Q: How do I obtain a traffic crash report?

A: Georgia law specifies who may obtain a traffic crash report. Please click the following link for the state law regarding open records.

If the wreck was investigated by the Georgia State Patrol, you may contact the GSP post that worked the wreck or the Open Records Unit at Headquarters. In your request, specify your association to the wreck as outlined in the code section above. The cost of a traffic crash report is $5.

For all other crash reports, contact the Department of Transportation.

Q: How do I request a copy of photos from a traffic crash worked by the Georgia State Patrol?

A: Photographs are available from traffic crashes once the investigation is closed and there are no pending criminal charges. A request must be made for photographs outlining your association to the crash. Prints are priced as follows: 4x6 prints are $3.00 each and 8x10 prints are $5.00 each. Payment must be made by company check or money order. Personal checks are not accepted.
